Student Checking

 At American State Bank we have the account for YOU!  Students will have to make the same decisions that adults do as far as which account is best, although for the most part Free Checking is going to work best.  The question…”Do I want a Free Checking account and have the bank safe keep my checks or do I want a Choice Checking account and agree to maintain a certain balance and receive photo images of my checks back in the mail?” 

 There is one stipulation that we make and that is that if a student is less than eighteen years of age we require that a responsible adult be a joint owner of the account.  Once a person is 18 they can legally sign a contract and will be able to have their own checking account. 

 Automated Overdraft Privilege is available on this account.  If you qualify your overdraft limit will be $500.00.  Some restrictions do apply so call the bank for more details or see our page on Automated Overdraft Privilege.
