Trying to put a little
money aside for a rainy day? How about a savings
account? We can set up an automatic transfer from
your checking account to your savings account each
payday or at what ever intervals you would prefer.
We can also set up an automatic transfer to cover
any possible overdrafts on your checking account.
Your savings account at American State Bank will pay
interest quarterly. The rate of interest is
determined by bank management and is subject to
change monthly. You will receive a quarterly
statement on the account unless you have an
electronic transfer (i.e. ATM or automatic transfer)
in which you will receive a statement at the end of
the month.
You may have up to six free withdrawals each month.
This would include any ATM withdrawals or automatic
transfers to checking. There will be a $.25 fee for
any withdrawals in excess of six. If your average
balance would fall below $500 there will be a $5.00
service charge per quarter. This charge is waived
for all minors (under age 18).
