The Beginning

In 1976-77 a group of local citizens felt that their banking needs were not being met satisfactorily and began a movement to find investors and start a new bank.

American State Bank was officially chartered in November, 1977.

We opened for business in a small mobile home on the site of our present parking lot. A new building was soon erected and served us well until 1995. That year we began a major addition and remodeling project. This venture doubled our space and allowed for more privacy when working with customers.

Now

We are a community bank taking pride in our loyalty to this area. Our staff is involved in various community activities to beautify the area, enhance economic development, and assist with service organizations to help the less fortunate. This commitment comes from the top down and everyone is involved in some way or another.

Our service to customers is second to none. Our location provides easy access and excellent parking. The drive-up window has four lanes with one designed especially for the heavier deposits of business customers and another for high profile vehicles.

Hours of operation are also user-friendly. Monday through Friday we are open from 7:30AM to 5:30PM and on Saturdays from 9AM to Noon.

Our assets as of close of business on December 31, 2008 were $120,000,000.00. We feel this growth is due to our ability to serve our customers well.
